Today I ran my first 5k race in Toronto, my hometown, with a dear friend of mine. Although it was special, it was not my first race. I have done a 25k in Berlin and a half-marathon in Prague and those were special too. What made this one special was that it was my first race in Toronto after having come back from living overseas. Running the race with a friend reminded me of the adventure that I can create for myself here in Canada. It also was exciting for me to gather with a bunch of fellow fitness enthusiasts and run in the rain just because we can. Nancy and I promised each other that we would both continue to grow as runners by doing more races here in Ontario. Sounds great to me! Although I have done many other races in many other beautiful parts of the world, there was something truly wonderful about doing them in my own city with a great friend. Looking forward to the next finish line!
