About Me and My Philosophy of Education
My name is Sandra Pozzobon. In 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in Primary/Junior from University of Toronto. My adventurous spirit then led me to work in Mexico, China and Germany where I taught in three International Baccalaureate schools. While teaching at these schools, I gained experience and extensive training in developing and implementing the Primary Years Program to kindergarten and grades 3 and 4. I also have Additional Qualifications in Math (Part 1) and an Additional Qualification in Special Education (Specialist) . I developed my inquiry-based teaching experience while working at Branksome Hall, an all-girls PYP private school in Toronto, as a Grade 6 classroom teacher and facilitator of the Primary Years Program (PYP) Exhibition.
Inquiry-based teaching and student-centered inquiry is a passion of mine; thus my teaching style is facilitative. Discussions, co-operative learning structures and interviews give me insight into my students abilities and gives them a sense of empowerment in their learning. As a teacher who has taught in international schools in three different continents, I appreciate the diversity of my students including their diverse backgrounds, religions, languages, abilities and learning styles.
NAME Above all else, my passion is building the self-esteem of my students, acknowledging their
Sandra Pozzobon talents and building a community of individuals who love, strengthen and support each other. Through
student-established essential agreements, team-building activities, class projects that are integrated
EMAIL into the curriculum and my dedication to after-school programs and workshops that feature yoga and
[email protected] karate, I demonstrate my commitment to developing the self-esteem of each child.
