Children's and Adult Yoga
In July 2013, I completed an intensive 95 hour Children's Yoga Teacher Training Program with Aruna Kathy Humphrys, founder of Young Yoga Masters, a registered children's yoga school by Yoga Alliance. In May 2015, I earned my 200 HR Hatha Yoga and Meditation certification and completed my Level 1 Mindful Educators with the organization Mindfulness Without Borders to facilitate Mindfulness Meditation to youth and adults. Becoming certified as a children's and adult yoga and meditation instructor is important to me because of my commitment to giving children and adults the opportunity to get in touch with their bodies and to reduce the stress in their lives.
I teach private and semi-private yoga and yoga/karate hybrid lessons to individuals and families in their homes. I also offer yoga, karate and yoga/karate hybrid programs as after-school programs in schools within Toronto for the Toronto Catholic District School Board and the Toronto District School Board.
My own yoga practice is important to me in order for me to stay balanced, to unwind after a productive day and to prepare for a new one, and to help keep me healthy on a mental and physical level.

Marital Arts- Karate
In 1997, I began my training in the art of Karate which ultimately changed the course of my life. Through taking Karate lessons, I developed self-confidence and realized a strength in my own body that I was not previously aware of. I earned my First Degree Black Belt in 2001 and my Second Degree Black Belt in 2004. I am currently working towards my Third Degree Black Belt. My passion for teaching Karate inspired me to study teaching as a profession and led me to teach Karate in Canada, Spain, Mexico, Germany and China in Karate studios, international schools and in summer camps. In 2008, I created and developed a successful Martial Arts After-School program for children ages 4-12 in Bonn, Germany. The Martial Arts program was a highly sought after program in the school. Children demonstrated their abilities both in the Karate sessions and while presenting at school assemblies to audiences of approximately 500 people.
Martial Arts After-School Program in Germany
In 2008, I created and implemented a successful Martial Arts program for primary students ages 5-10 years old in Bonn, Germany. The program inspired a loyal following and students were instructed katas and self-defence techniques which they were assessed and graded upon. They were awarded belts for their accomplishments. My karate classes are fun, informative and engaging. Children are given a warm-up, karate instruction and a "GLEE" portion guaranteed to make children leave feeling happy and energized.
Teaching Karate at a Summer Camp in Castromonte Spain
In July and August of 2005, I taught karate internationally to English Language Learners for the first time in Castromonte Spain, a small Spanish town about three hours away from Madrid. The karate program that I developed and instructed to children ages 10-12 was a part of an English Language Immersion, Arts and Sports camp. In addition to learning katas and self-defence techniques, the children presented their new karate techniques to their peers and parents at the end of the camp.
